Unit (2009)
Taking the 'floating island' subject and the Desert Island (disks) as inspiration, we produced multipurpose 'Units' for use by the visiting public and other 'Islanders'. Dotted with material references to events within the novel, these 'islands-for-living-' facilitated a conflation of the vocational, recreational, and the domestic.
ロンドン在住のアーティストグループ「Propeller Island」による一ヶ月間のアーティスト・イン・レジデンスの作品。レジデンスの周辺で見つけたオブジェクトや、レジデンス中に使用したマテリアルを再構成した。このマルチパーパスユニットは、作業台でもあれば、ライブラリでもあり、クッキングユニットや音楽楽器なども揃え、期間中皆が集まって使うことができます。
